VA Benefit Account Requirements
All students receiving VA 好处 must maintain certain accounts with the Department of 退伍军人 Affairs.
These accounts allow students to safely access personal information. The type of account you are required to have is dictated by the benefit chapters for which you qualify.
What chapters are you using?
Students using the Post 9/11 退伍军人权利法》® Chapter 33 are required to have a VA.政府账户.
The account allows students to obtain up-to-date information on educational entitlements, including months and days of benefit remaining. Students can also update direct deposit and personal contact information, download VA letters and personal documents and view a record of all payments made by the VA for education and disability. Students must be in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System to create an account.
Students using the Montgomery 退伍军人权利法》® Chapters 30 or 1606 are required to have a WAVE account. WAVE accounts allow students to obtain up-to-date information on educational entitlements, including months and days of benefit remaining, and verify college enrollment each month.
Military and Veteran 服务 highly recommends students also register for a VA.政府账户 to keep record of VA payments, download VA letters and personal documents, and update direct deposit and personal information.
